Employment:  1099 Independent Contractor for two part-time positions.

Experience Level:  All levels, Job Number #2 can be an internship.

Job 1: Industrial Hygiene, Health and Safety, Indoor Air Quality, OSHA Trainer at various industrial and marine sites.

Requirements:  Must pass drug test, a physical (for wearing a respirator), and obtain or possess a Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC), education or experience in Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Indoor Air Quality, and writing skills.  Must be comfortable to write and present health and safety training in accordance with OSHA Standards.  Applicant should be prepared to submit a writing sample and at least two interviews.  Must be able to drive to jobsites in the Northern New Jersey Regional area, some work may include short trips (one to two weeks) East of the Mississippi River, Texas and Chicago regional areas.    Education or experience should include either an Health and Safety, Environmental Science/Studies, Environmental Policy Studies,  or related science and engineering background

Job 2:  Environmental, Health and Safety Policy Analyst (Entry Level or Internship).

Requirements:  Must pass a drug test  and obtain or possess a Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC) .  Position may include writing and posting articles to websites and newsletters, setting up and running and attending seminars/conferences/speeches, setting up media interviews,  running a small office/data entry, as well as working for confidential clients.  Several writing samples are required for this position, along with at least two interviews.  Education or experience should include either an  Environmental Policy Analyses, Environmental Science/Studies, Economics, or science or engineering background.   A journalism or political science, homeland security background is a plus but not necessary. A strong science or engineering background is a plus but not necessary. 

Applicant must submit at least five writing samples (any type of sample is OK), be able to operate a computer/build websites (you will be trained to build websites), post video's to Youtube or similar website, and agree to  an extensive confidentiality agreement.  Must have working knowledge of PowerPoint, Excel and MS Word.  Passing a written test may be required, a written essay is required.  Photography background is a plus, but not required.  Work may include work in New Jersey, Eastern Pennsylvania, New York City, and Washington, DC.  This may be a work from home/school situation for the right applicant.

Pay:  Hourly rate is negotiable based on experience and our current work load.  The same person may apply for and obtain both positions.

Submittal Package for Job #1: 
Resume (including education, certifications and experience), Two Writing Samples (on anything), copy of TWIC Card,  a drug test from the last six months (if available), and copies of your college transcript if you have less than 1 year of experience.  Submit a video of a safety meeting topic or be prepared to do an in person presentation.

Submittal Package for Job #2:  Resume (including education and experience), 5 writing samples, copy of a drug test from the last six months (if available), copies of your college transcript (if you have one).  You must submit a maximum 300 word essay answering one of the following questions:  What makes Good Environmental Policy?  or What is the future of Environmental or Health and Safety Policy during the Obama Administration and will it be good or bad? You must submit a video presentation on your essay topic or be prepared to present it during the interview.
